Rear Tailgate

Hi , just would like to ask if you all have the same problem that we seem to be getting with our 52 galaxy. the thing is when you shut the tailgate it does not shut right up tight, but it will do if you really slam it hard.

I have found that if you leave the drivers or passangers door open very slightly that it shuts first time nice and tight, does this happen to any of yours. any info would be nice.

tells you how airtight your gal is,i think this has been covered before,you might be able to adjust your door slam(catch or whatever its called)so you dont have to slam it so hard,i think mine had the same problem.

...does it shut alright - if the other doors are shut with the windows open?

 

the old vauxhall tigras had this problem, so they made the passenger window automatically open when u shut the boot lid.

the same thing happens on the freelander,the rear hatch door drops slightly so the rear glass dont pop out

the tailgate does close alright if i leave the window open just abit, just got to open one of the doors to help in future.

So how is it that the wind whistles through my drivers door seal?

probably because your travelling at speed and the pressure is forcing the seal to give a little?

anything around 70 or more + wind = whistling
